The previous location of the island had been familiar in a way. A little woodsy and, dare he say Elvish, but familiar enough. Yes, even with the slightly murderous bear people.

This one, however, was completely alien.

Thorin found himself eyeing the strange city of Men with its constant announcements about this 'Meriff' person and 'H' shaped monstrosity in the sky above them with no small measure of distaste. Perhaps the land beyond here wpuld prove less strange? AHAHAHAHAno.

Lucille was momentarily distracted by that, but quickly had to return to waving her knife about as one of the creatures tore at her hair. She gave up on dignity and rushed over to Thorin, ending up with her back to his.

"At least the nets made sense!"

Small bears in a forest throwing nets over you made more sense than flying creatures with money that attacked you for unknown reasons.

"The bear people didn't make sense either!" Because they could argue about everything.

"Ouch!" Lucille stabbed at the creature that had just attacked her.

"Why not?" It was a good reason as any to argue, especially while being attacked.

Which meant Thorin threw himself back into the tiny, mostly just annoying fray of battle to kill that creature until they were left in silence.

"They just were." There was his logic.

Lucille was going to ignore that he just had defended her. "Perhaps we should return to a safer place?"

Lucille didn't even bother to reply to that. Instead she turned and ran towards the doorway back to the city, hoping the damn bird-things would not be able to catch up.
