As Thorin did not particularly know how to find another tavern, save for wandering around the city and getting lost, he took Anders back to the one location he'd already been to.

Which also meant more of those 'Irish nachos'. So. It would be a trip well worth it.

He hauled two pints of ale back to the table, setting one in front of Anders before grumpily hauling himself up onto the far too high seat. Tall folks designed things poorly.

"Ah, you will not," Anders replied. "You'd never find your way home if you did."

That was true, but you underestimated Thorin's stubbornness.

"I could find my way back just fine."

Liiiiies.

Anders fixed him with a level gaze for that one.

"Of course," he said mildly. "So, shall we start with ales and that nacho thing?"

"I would not be opposed to nachos," Thorin replied, lifting his glass in salute to him.

Anders went over to the bar to order the nachos, then ambled back to Thorin looking satisfied.

"So," he said, "did you take the driving class again this term? I skipped it."

"I did. Though my ability has not yet improved."

Because explosions.

"Still smashing things up regularly?"

[dwarvenswagger]

"They make things too flimsy." So yes.

[not_every_mage]

"I've noticed as much myself," Anders said graciously.

[dwarvenswagger]

Damn right he did.

Thorin nodded at that, taking a sip of his ale. "Have you thought on your troubles?"

Anders shrugged.

"Yes. Mostly, I decided my problem is I think too much," he said. "I did talk to Face, though. Cassandra went home to take her final vows as a Seeker."

"Well, that is good news then." For her, at least. "Perhaps it means I too will find a way home."

"I hope so," Anders said, and took a slurp of beer. "Face said she was coming back to keep an eye on me, though. I feel so lucky."

[dwarvenswagger]

"You have fallen into unseemly company," Thorin replied with a dramatic sigh that did nothing to hide the amused smile. "Drinking and cavorting."

"Drinking I'll give you," Anders said, smiling back. "Cavorting's still to come, but iI have faith."

[dwarvenswagger]

"So long as we do not end up wishing for death in the morning."

Never. Again.

Anders pulled his hand back from his mug for the moment.

"I'm not getting that drunk again," he decided. "I know you can outdrink me, and I'm man enough to admit it."

"Never keep up with a madman," Thorin replied with a nod. "Never."

Or an elf. Damn elves.

"Are you the madman, or is Edward?" Anders wondered idly.

[dwarvenswagger]

"Edward. Obviously."

He got no respect from his friends.

"Obviously," Anders agreed, twirling a piece of potato free from the gooey heap of nachos before them. "I'm just glad you don't think it's me."

[dwarvenswagger]

"If I did, I would be without someone to complain to about the contraptions they use here."

[not_every_mage]

Anders smiled. "I like some of them, though. The jukebox isn't bad. I'm not so fond of what they call music."

Someone had programmed Iggy Azalea on repeat. It was very fancy.

"It tends to be noise with the occasional lyric of note," Thorin agreed. Because he was from Tolkien. And random songs happened.
